The History of the Jaguar Club of Florida
(JCOF)
The
Jaguar Club of Florida (JCOF) was founded in 1977 by a small
group of enthusiasts who had in common the ownership and
maintenance of the World's Most Beautiful Automobiles. JCOF is
proudly affiliated with the Jaguar Clubs of North America Inc.
(JCNA) an organization comprised of more than fifty-five clubs
throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Membership in
the JCOF includes a subscription to the JCOF chapter newsletter
JAGWire and to the Jaguar Journal, the official publication of
the Jaguar Clubs of North America, which is published six times
a year by Jaguar Clubs of North America Inc. The chapter
newsletter JAGWire provides its members local club news and
latest in events for club members and is published bimonthly.
Our website provides its

Competitions and Shows
We
compete in various types of shows and competitions.
Car Shows
- These events are the most popular among our members. Judging at
shows varies greatly depending on the type of show. They range from
popular choice to a concours.
Rallies
- A rally is where driver teams are given a route to follow in the
local area. Careful attention to speed and time in a rally is
important since it isn't how fast you complete a course but how
efficiently in terms of time or goals reached as part of the rally
criteria needed to win. These can be a lot of fun and don't require
anything other than a car with a full tank of gas. For more
information on the rallies we host, see
The Rally Page.
Slaloms
- Slaloms are a fixed course with different classes to compete in
and all it is to win is who's fastest around the fixed course. The
course is a small, a figure eight and is set up with safety cones of
a predetermined layout. These are typically set up in a parking lot
or some other large area to accommodate the course layout.
Everything from the family sedan to modified cars can compete in
their respective classes, see
The Slalom Page (Still under
construction).
Awards
- Each show has their unique awards. For JCNA sanctioned events,
there are regional and North American awards too. Eligibility for
regional awards is based on having entered two JCNA sanctioned
events and overall North American awards are based on having entered
three JCNA sanctioned events. The award is also based on how well
one did in the sanctioned events. In additions to the JCNA awards,
our club presents awards to all that participate in two or more JCNA
sanctioned events.
